Job Summary

Progressive Technology, in collaboration with ESPN, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Production Design Specialist to join our creative team remotely. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in developing cutting-edge visual content that enhances the storytelling of live and pre-recorded sports programming. This position requires a strong blend of graphic design expertise, production knowledge, and an understanding of broadcast media workflows. The Production Design Specialist will collaborate with producers, directors, and on-air talent to bring creative visions to life across a wide range of platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute high-quality motion and static graphics for ESPNs sports broadcasts and digital content.

  • Translate creative briefs into compelling visual assets that align with ESPNs brand identity.

  • Collaborate with producers, editors, and content teams to integrate graphics into live and recorded productions.

  • Maintain accuracy and visual consistency across all design elements and deliverables.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues in real-time during live productions.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in sports production design.

  • Manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Prepare files for broadcast, digital platforms, and social media, ensuring proper formatting and resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Visual Communications, or related field.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).

  • Working knowledge of real-time graphics software such as Vizrt, Chyron, or Ross XPression.

  • Strong understanding of broadcast design principles and motion graphics.

  • Exceptional visual storytelling skills with an eye for detail, color, composition, and typography.

  • Ability to interpret feedback and quickly implement revisions.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in graphic or motion design, preferably in a live broadcast or sports production environment.

  • Experience working in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments.

  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of motion design and broadcast work is required.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

  • Flexible schedule with availability required during live events, evenings, weekends, or holidays based on production needs.
